David Moleshead
Chairman and Founder

Fellow of the Institute of Bankers in Scotland, with over 42 years in investment/international banking in the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East managing teams which have been market leaders and won numerous industry awards.

Joined Clydesdale Bank in 1964, subsequently transferred to their then parent Midland Bank where he undertook a number of management positions in head office and their network. Roles included working directly for Group CEO and latterly as a trade finance director in the international division.

In 1989, he became Managing Director with Banque Paribas, the French investment bank and had responsibility for certain specialised activities in Europe and then Asia & Pacific region, based initially in London and then Singapore as Head of Project Finance. In 1998, he was appointed Regional Director and Territory Head for South Asia based in Delhi responsible for the entire bank's activities in the sub-continent.

In 2000, David moved to Dubai where he was asked to take over as Managing Director, Debt Finance &Advisory, and Middle East for HSBC and effectively acted as deputy CEO of the investment bank in the region. During this time he pioneered the debt capital markets activity in the GCC establishing HSBC as the leading debt house as voted by Euromoney from 2002 until 2005. During that time, he led teams which arranged finance exceeding several billions of dollars for acquisitions, asset/liability management, corporate re-structurings and project finance. He retired from this role at the end of 2005 and remained in the Middle East as a senior adviser to HSBC until 2007.

He has been appointed as a Globalscot by the first minister in Scotland to promote business activity for Scottish companies in the GCC.

Kashif’s career spans over 18 years in the UK, Switzerland, and the UAE where he acquired skill set covering the comprehensive spectrum of academia, asset management, private equity and the development of business growth strategies to help drive net revenue growth and improve business performance implementing strategies from inception to completion.

Kashif began as an asset manager for First Quadrant Investment Ltd in London, a quantitative investment house. He then joined Killik & Co., a private client investment management company in 2000 and became Managing Director of the MENA region at Dubai International Financial Center. His ventures in Dubai progressed further with him becoming the Director of UBS AG and later Managing Partner of Capital Quantum Inc, a proprietary investment platform, in 2012.

In 2014, Kashif initiated a joint venture between Capital Quantum and Envestors MENA. The venture was based on entering the fast growing regional SME market of the MENA region identifying key early growth equity investment opportunities for family offices, HNWI’s and investment clubs.

Kashif holds a Distinction in Masters in Finance (University of Strathclyde, 1994) and Economics Management (London School of Economics, 1995), as well as engaging in a PhD Research in Financial Markets Volatility (Imperial College of Science & Technology, deferred 1999) in London. In addition, Kashif had a hand in academic teaching assignments from 1996 – 2000 at LSE and Imperial College, London.

As an entrepreneur & investor himself, Kashif has been involved in a variety of investments in Asia and Europe ranging from Real Estate, Clothing & Design, Contracting/Fit-Out works, Child Safety and SME Private Equity Platform.

Yousef hamza

Yousef Hamza

Yousef Hamza is a partner at Envestors MENA and has advised over 2,000 entrepreneurs, assisting in legal matters, strategy and fund raising.

Yousef is also a mentor at Seedstartup, injaz and Dubai+Acumen, is a YAL member, Global Shaper and lectures for Universities, government conferences and is an advisor/board member/angel investor to a number of start-ups across the region.

Prior to this, Yousef was educated in Kuwait and the U.A.E, followed by a law degree from the University of Cardiff in the U.K. Yousef interned at a number of international law firms and worked briefly as a lawyer in Abu Dhabi before moving into the SME ecosystem.
